1 — What did you do this past week?

I’m not sure I remember everything I did this past week. It has been quite a busy mess. I turned in a Symbolic Programming project on Monday and had 2 midterms on Tuesday. I got good grades on all of those. On Wednesday and Thursday, I met with Daniel to work on the allocator. I’ve also been working on my game tech Networking project with that team during the week.

2 — What’s in your way?

My game tech project got moved to being due on Monday, so now I have both that and OOP allocator due. My allocator project is not quite compiling yet, so Daniel and I will have quite a bit of work to do. On Tuesday, my next stage of the parser for my compilers project is due. On Thursday, the next Symbolic Programming assignment is due.

3 — What will you do next week?
I will hopefully have the game tech project finished tonight. On Monday, I will likely work with Daniel all day to get allocator done. On Tuesday, all day for the Compiler project. On Wednesday, I’ll start the AI project for game tech or clean up the mess that we have. On Thursday, I’ll try to do all the Symbolic Progamming Assignment.

4 — If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #8: Interface Segregation Principle?

I read it before in SWE and it seems to be echoing a similar message as the rest of the papers which is to break down large chunks into smaller chunks that can be used as components to implement more complex functionality.

5 — What was your experience of algorithms and iterators?

I liked seeing iterators split into different functionality with the possibility of inheriting operators. We really got a little crazy on Friday with the two exercises. I was lucky to have Kevin in my group. I programmed equal on Monday and had some fun with it.

6 — What made you happy this week?

My girlfriend had me watch some episodes of Dexter which I enjoyed.

7 — What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Apple had a real nice press release with some more M1 chips. They keep innovating in the processor space unlike everyone else in laptops where we have been using x86 for 20 years. Processor manufactures might need to follow the switch to arm to stay competitive. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2021/10/apple-unveils-game-changing-macbook-pro/
